AT DAWN’S EDGE – Evil Flamingo

Written by on September 25, 2017

Check out the debut release “Evil Flamingo” from the rising metal band AT DAWN’S EDGE. From the beginning, the band has sought to mix the beautiful and the heavy. This track has achieved just that. The listener will notice the stark contrast between the beautiful vocals and the powerful instrumentals in this song.

To really make the musical contrast stand out, Alex, the guitarist for AT DAWN’S EDGE, took inspiration for the song from a feeling of bittersweetness. Every action is both consequential and enlightening, which can bring about a lot of doubt. It’s that doubt and tension explored so perfectly through mixing darker moments with uplifting ones. To further drive this, an interpretive dance was chosen for the music video for it’s fluidity and visually ability to express those moments.

if there was goal was contrast they 100% got it right. Absolutely get chills every time I hear her voice against the shredding of those guitars. Great work.
